How to Choose a Citadel Version for Your Modpack

The newest uploaded file is not automatically the right file for an existing pack. The right release is the one that satisfies the requirements of the environment you intend to run.
Begin with your existing environment
Record your exact Minecraft version and loader, then inspect the requirements of every project that depends on Citadel. Several projects can impose overlapping version constraints. Choose a release within the supported overlap instead of updating the library in isolation.
Review the file details and changelog
Open the official file listing and read the details for the candidate release. Check game version tags, loader tags, and relevant changelog notes. Keep the downloaded filename in your manifest so another player can identify precisely what you tested. Avoid treating a similarly numbered game release as interchangeable.
Validate before changing the main world
Try the combination in a separate instance or a copied server setup. Confirm startup, content loading, and the interactions that matter to your pack. If requirements cannot be satisfied together, adjust the selected content releases or maintain separate packs. A forced mismatch rarely produces a setup that is easy to maintain.
